Happy New Year and Welcome!
Happy 2018! I'm glad you found your way here to my little corner of the blogosphere. Hopefully, if you're in Canada, you're sufficiently thawed out, and have a cup of your favourite warm drink at the ready.
I'm Anne. I'm a 40-something year old Canadian single mum who calls Ottawa, Ontario home. I'm a full-time public servant; when I'm not doing that job, I can be found schlepping kids to and from Youth at my church, supervising homework, making supper, and maintaining a certain level of sanity with my two teenagers (a daughter and a son). We are super-excited about the Winter Olympics coming up, and will have the TV on, cheering on Team Canada every day the Games are on. We also cheer on our home NHL team, the Ottawa Senators, and our CFL team, the Ottawa Redblacks. We also enjoy poking around local museums on the weekends. I am an Evangelical, Protestant Christian, who sums up her faith best by "do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God." (Micah 6:8)
Some of you may be asking where is the title of my blog from? It's taken from the 4th verse of one of my favourite Keith & Kristyn Getty songs, "The Lord Is My Salvation." That song has become a particular favourite of mine, and perhaps that will be a future blog post.
My intention with this blog is to write as an outlet for myself; to encourage other women, in particular, Christian single mums. When I started on this path, I looked online for blogs, for anything that might help me in this "suddenly single" place, and found...not a lot, sadly. I remember thinking at the time, "when I'm in the right place, I want to help change that...I want to encourage others in my position, and be for some other women what I would have wanted." So, here I am. I'm not perfect, but I believe I have something to share, something to say, and something to offer, besides sarcastic wit and my charming company.
My goal, for the time being, is to blog monthly at a minimum, likely around the end of each month; a sort of "month in review." I figured it was probably wise to not set too lofty a goal right out of the gate, while I get my bearings, blogging-wise.
In the meantime, keep warm, keep on keeping on, and keep drinking that warm cuppa.
